RICO YUZEN

Rico grew up in Japan and after graduating from University, she studied jazz music at a prestigious music school in Japan. She then moved to Los Angeles. 
 In 2000, she studied under Julie Kelly and performed successfully at the famous Jazz Bakery.
 In 2003 She moved to New York, where she joined workshops and sessions and debuted at Danny’s Slylight Room in 2003. In 2011, She moved to Europe where she had many experiences that build up her career, skills and resume as a jazz singer. In 2015, She returned to NYC. She studied under Karrin Allyson.

In 2017, she released her second album “I Wish You Love” in Japan and the US which was produced by world-renowned pianist Toru Dodo! Rico has performed in many venues in New York City including Tomi Jazz, Club bonafide, Silvana etc..

She has been active in Hong Kong ,Taiwan  and Japan since 2019. Her singing improves exponentially as she learns and opens her heart to all cultures.

日本での音楽活動を経て、2000年～2007年渡米、ロサンジェルス、ニューヨークにてセッション、ワークショップに参加、ロサンジェルスの老舗“Jazz Bakery”をはじめ、New YorkマンハッタンのBlossom Dearieのホームグランドであった”Danny’s Skylight Room”でのライブを成功させる。

2011年よりドイツ、アムステルダムに拠点を移し、ヨーロッパ各国での現地ミュージシャンと勢力的に活動、ドイツ“Jazz Schmiede”のステージも立つ。2015年再び、NYにもどり、Karrin　Allysonに師事。有名JAZZ CLUBのセッションなどに参加し、JAZZ CLUBでの活動開始、Tomi Jazz, Club Bonafide等のステージに立っている。

ニューヨークを拠点に世界で活躍中のJAZZピアニスト百々徹をProducerにむかえニューヨーク録音のセカンドアルバム“I Wish You Love”を2017年秋にリリース！
世界の音楽、文化を吸収し、さらに飛躍したステージを展開している。
